Senses of Ten - Work 8
Film (2022)
Facing a debilitating illness, a former dancer recounts her life of movement—onstage, traveling and now through remembrance.

As I Imagine My Body Moving explores the notion of kinaesthetic separation between the body and its stream of consciousness. Contextualised by my experiences of severe illnesses that have rendered me immobile and disabled at various junctions for the past two decades, this work seeks to imagine a new possibility of moving through time and space as enabled by the cinematic technology of the montage. Slipping in between the gaps of my memory and my body, the act of composition becomes a way of making sense and peace about what it means to live.
